Xenoblade Chronicles 3D amiibo Unlocks and Functions Guide

The amiibo functions of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D aren’t overly exciting, but it has functionality nonetheless. Xenoblade Chronicles 3D features a Collection mode where you can view models from the game and listen to music tracks. To unlock models and music you’ll need to spend tokens in raffles, and one of the ways you can earn those tokens is by tapping amiibo.

First, access the Collection by selecting the Collection option from the main menu. The first time you enter the Collection you’ll be given 10 tokens to spend, and reaching certain progression points in the game will give you more bonus tokens.

But there’s quicker, more regular ways of getting tokens too. Select the Earn Tokens option and you’ll be presented with a few different options. Select the Using amiibo option and you’ll be prompted to tap an amiibo. The only amiibo that you can use for this is the Shulk amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. line of figures. Once you tap it, you’ll be given 3 tokens to spend. You can tap the Shulk amiibo once per day, getting 3 tokens each time.

You can also enable StreetPass to get 3 tokens each time you pass another player with it enabled, or exchange Play Coins for tokens at a rate of 5:1.

You can spend your tokens in raffles – the Model Raffle unlocks models and the Music Raffle unlocks music tracks. You’ll need to progress through the game to add more models and tracks to the raffles. Spend 1 token for a totally random unlockable (which could give you a duplicate of one you already have) or spend 3 tokens to be guaranteed a new unlockable.

Then you can view models from the Model Viewer.

And listen to music tracks in the Jukebox. If you plug headphones in, you can even listen to music while the console is in Sleep Mode!
