UPDATE: Australian release info added.

Good news for parents looking for games they can play with their kids – Nintendo of Europe have revealed Teddy Together, a new 3DS game releasing on July 1st. This game sounds similar to the Nintendogs series, and sees players taking care of a teddy bear that appears on their doorstep one day, along with a mysterious key. Teddy comes alive and begins to talk to the player, who they can refer to by name. He’ll ask you questions like “What do you do for fun?” and “What’s your favourite food?”, and weave the answers into conversations later on. He can also talk to your friends, and remember what they have to say too. Nintendo made sure to stress that the game isn’t connected online, and doesn’t share your answers with anybody.

Each day, more of Teddy’s story will be revealed, including the purpose of him and his key, which means that families can treat the game like a bedtime story each night. You can also play with Teddy, with minigames allowing you to cook food for him and clean him up. Teddy can be dressed up in a variety of outfits, accessories and fur colours that are bought with coins. These coins are earned by playing the game and by tapping amiibo figures once per day. There’s no word yet on whether you can sic your Teddy on another Teddy and watch them tear each other’s stuffing out, but we’ll keep you posted.

Teddy Together launches on July 2nd with a RRP of $49.95. This release date has been added into our calendar.
