Captain Toad Explores New Platforms

A Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker re-release was announced in today’s Nintendo Direct, bringing an updated version of the game to Switch and 3DS. New content from Super Mario Odyssey has been added, including a level based off New Donk City. The Switch version will allow for co-operative play where a second player can perform supportive actions like shooting enemies, while the 3DS version will have touch screen controls and stereoscopic 3D.

The original Wii U game supported the Toad amiibo, but this functionality has yet to be confirmed for the re-releases. You can watch a trailer for the Wii U version below to get a feel for what the game is like.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will launch on July 13th for the Nintendo Switch and 3DS family of systems.
