March 21 Price Guide

Did you survive last week’s flood of Toys to Life releases? Don’t rest up just yet, #NoMercyMarch is continuing, with a big Disney Infinity release as well as the launch of Hyrule Warriors Legends on 3DS. Make sure to check out our price guide from last week as there’s some good deals in there that will still be valid, on things like Skylanders and Disney Infinity figures. Now, are you settled in? Because this week’s price guide is a little confusing due to some store exclusive toys.

First up is the new wave of Disney Infinity content, headlined by the new Marvel Battlegrounds playset. This playset is a 1-4 player brawler, similar to Power Stone, in which you can use all of your Marvel figures from 2.0 and 3.0. You’ll need an update to use any of these toys though, so make sure you update your console (and it has to be a console as the new content is yet to be made available on other platforms). The playset itself is cheapest to get at Big W, who are selling it for $30. The next cheapest price is $32 at TargetUPDATE: Target’s catalogue with the playset in it ended yesterday, so they’re charging $39 ($5 above RRP) for today, but when the new catalogue starts tomorrow it’ll be back down to $32.

Big W Battlegrounds Price

There are five figures launching alongside this playset, two of which are store exclusives at different stores, and neither of those stores have the cheapest prices! The three freely available figures are Ant-Man, Vision and Black Panther who are cheapest at Big W, at $14.

Target are selling these figures at $15, and also have an exclusive Baloo figure, from the Jungle Book. So it turns out Target are a bunch of dummies, and put these figures in a catalogue that ended before these figures even released, so they’re scanning in at $17. I’m awaiting confirmation whether this is a mistake and if they’ll honour the advertised prices. For now, price match Big W on the figurines. UPDATE: For some reason they’re selling them full price today but not tomorrow. I don’t know either. Try to price match at Big W if you can, it’s silly.

Their website is also showing old 3.0 figures going for $10 and playsets at $22, but that’s not in their catalogue for whatever reason and may not be an in-store deal (thanks Rep for the heads-up).

Target Figure Price

EB Games have an exclusivity deal on the Black Suit Spider-Man figurine (which is functionally different from the regular Spidey figure, but identical to the one bundled with the Vita 2.0 Starter Set if you bought that) and since they’re sticking to the RRP, as per usual, you’ll need to fork up $17.95 if you want it. You can order one online from various retailers, but their prices are well over RRP. Ozgameshop is offering Spidey for $24.99 + shipping, while Mighty Ape are selling it for $19.99 + shipping.

EB Spidey Price

Last but not least in the land of Infinity is the Marvel Battlegrounds Power Disc pack. This comes with three circular discs that can be used in the playset and the Toy Box, and a hexagonal disc for Ghost Rider’s motorcycle that can be used in the Toy Box. Big W and Target are both selling these for $9.

Phew, so that’s just a tad overwhelming, huh? If you’re after the best prices for Infinity, and want all these figurines, then you’re going to have to make at least two trips. Head to Target to get the Marvel figures, Baloo, and the power discs, and then head to EB for the Black Suit Spider-Man figure. You can try to get Target to match Big W’s prices on the Marvel figures and playset to save $5 if you want. You could also try getting EB to match the price on the Spidey figure, but since it’s an exclusive the staff won’t match it if they’re savvy enough.

On the amiibo side of things, you can grab Hyrule Warriors Legends on 3DS on March 24th. You can use all your amiibo in this game, with varying effects. The lowest price is tied between Target and Big W, at $49.

Target Hyrule Price

If you’re after the Limited Edition of the game, you can find it cheapest at Mighty Ape, even when you factor in shipping, but you’ll need to wait a few days to play it since it needs to ship. They’re selling it for $85 + shipping, and it also comes with some costume DLC. You can also order the standard version of the game from them, which also comes with the costume DLC, for $49.99 + shipping. Thanks Vook for the heads-up.

Ape Legends Price

So that’s all for this week. The latest price guides will be available in the price guides section, and you can keep up with future releases by checking out our calendar.
