March 3 prices

March is a very busy month for Toys to Life, with all the major brands launching a bunch of new products. This week starts things off with a bang, with some new Infinity toys, a bunch of exclusive Skylanders, and a new amiibo-compatible Wii U game. So let’s take a look at this week’s new releases and compare their prices between catalogues.

Tomorrow sees the release of the Zootopia toys for Disney Infinity. You’ll be able to buy figurines of Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps (the two protagonists of the movie) as well as a pack of four Zootopia power discs that will provide Zootopia themes and skyboxes for the Toy Box, as well as an additional costume for both Nick and Judy. They’ll be sure to help out in the Zootopia Toy Box Challenge! Nick and Judy can be used in the Toy Box, Toy Box Hub, Toy Box Takeover, and Toy Box Speedway, so it’ll provide a good opportunity to familiarise yourself with the characters ahead of the film’s release on March 17th. Given the release date, you could say that Judy is a… march hare.

Oh gosh, that was horrible, let’s move on. The best price for these toys is at Big W, with little competition. Their catalogue has the figures and power discs listed for $14 and $9 respectively on page 23. The relevant section is posted below. They’ve also got some other great deals on Infinity toys listed, including their exclusive LightFX figures for only $18, so if you have a few gaps in your collection you can make use of those.

Big W Zootopia

Target have Nick and Judy listed in their catalogue for $17, which is a little higher, and they don’t have the discs listed at all. Going off the prices their site has for the previous power disc packs, it’s likely that the Zootopia discs will be $12

Target Zootopia

The catalogue that Kmart has posted for this week doesn’t have any toys or games, only clothes. EWWWW! Their website has all Infinity figures listed at $17, and they don’t have any power disc packs on their site, but it’s a safe bet that they’ll be selling them for $12 like most other stores.

JB Hi-Fi doesn’t have any of the Zootopia content on their site, but their prices for other 3.0 content is $17 for figures and $12 for power disc packs, so I imagine that’ll be how much they Zootopia content will cost too.

Also releasing this week (some sites are saying they’re already out so I’m a little confuzzled) are a new batch of Skylanders toys. This includes a bunch of limited edition and exclusive figures. Forgive me if I come off as totally ignorant about what these figures are because, well, I am. I’m broke enough from just three Toys to Life brands 😉

Big W is again showing the lowest prices, as well as an exclusive figure, but their catalogue is missing some items that Target is showing. Big W have an exclusive Legendary Bone Bash Roller Brawl figure for $14. They’re also showing the lowest prices  on the Birthday Bash Big Bubble Pop Fizz (god, try saying that five times fast) and Eggcited Thrillipede at $14, and the Spring Ahead Dive Bomber at $15. These are on page 23 of their catalogue, but we have the relevant section posted below, because we’re cool like that.

Big W Skylanders

Target have Pop Fizz, Thrillipede, and the Dive Bomber for $17 each, which isn’t quite as good. They’re also advertising some extra stuff – an exclusive Nitro Soda Skimmer for $20, a Land Racing Pack for $34, and a $30 Triple Pack containing Bone Bash Roller Brawl, Tomb Buggy, and Splatter Slasher. These are on page 13 of their catalogue.

Target Skylanders

Then, on Saturday March 5th Nintendo will be releasing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD on Wii U, which has a few uses of amiibo. It comes in a Special Edition that includes a soundtrack and a Wolf Link amiibo, which unlocks a special dungeon in-game.

Once again, Big W has the cheapest price at $68. This is substantially cheaper than other stores so expect it to sell out quickly. Target have it at $84 which is quite a lot higher. Kmart again have no mention of anything interesting in their catalogue, and JB aren’t even trying – full retail price at $99.

Big W Twilight Princess

One final thing that’s worth mentioning due to it sort of being Toys to Life is the Yo-kai Watch merchandise being advertised in Target’s catalogue. These toys underwent a super stealthy launch over here, but it looks like Target have just got stock in and are starting to sell them. The medals that come with these toys can be used to play the Yo-kai Land mobile app, and unlock small bonuses in the game (which is also on sale, at $44). The medals can also be put into the Yo-kai Watch itself (on sale for $29) to play music and sound effects from the game. I unashamedly love it. We’ll hopefully have a more in-depth look at these toys in the coming weeks.

Target Yokai

So for this week’s releases, Big W is a clear winner. You’ll definitely want to stop by there to pick up your toys and games, but if you’re a Skylanders player then Target’s exclusive toys might pull you over there as well. Target also have some good deals on Yo-kai Watch merchandise, which I’ll always have a soft spot for.
