Mon Amiibo on Patreon

It’s been a bit over two years since I started Mon Amiibo. Despite initially being against the concept of Toys to Life, I fell into it really dang hard. People started treating me as an authority on the subject, coming to me with questions about whether particular Toys to Life games would be for them, and what they’d need to buy in order to get the most of it. Friends encouraged me to start up my own site that put all my knowledge out for public consumption, but I turned down the idea. I didn’t think I’d be able to do it. I did.

I set up a website all by myself, and proudly presented it for all to see. I was going to strike it big covering amiibo and one of my favourite games of all time – Disney Infinity! Fast forward a couple of months and Disney suddenly decided to shut Infinity down. Not gonna lie, that hit me hard and put me in a real bad head space. But I pushed through it. I’ve had my ups and downs while trying to make a name for Mon Amiibo, but overall I’m really happy with what I’ve achieved. Mon Amiibo has helped Australians find release dates and prices for games that have been overlooked by more mainstream sites and if I may say so myself we’ve got some of the best dang amiibo guides out there.

I’ve only been able to do this with the help of all of you. Whether it’s providing footage for amiibo guides, sharing articles with friends or chasing down content thieves, a steadily increasing community has always had my back. Now there’s a new way you can show your support – the Mon Amiibo patreon! It’s been a lot of hard work getting this site and channel up and running, and it’s going to take an even bigger investment in order to take it to the next level. I want to go back through the history of Toys to Life and provide guides for games that aren’t in the headlines anymore. I want to break into the exciting and terrifying frontier of regular video uploads and streaming. You can help cover the toys, games, equipment and encouragement that I need in order to continue making Mon Amiibo what it is.

Don’t feel at all pressured to pledge. I know it’s not an option for everyone and I’m not keeping a checklist of who is and isn’t pledging. But if you are able to lend even a dollar a month, it would go a long way and I would really appreciate it.

I’m excited to see what the future holds for Mon Amiibo. Let’s take that first step together.
