Original Story:
In a Nintendo Direct earlier this year, Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters was confirmed to be launching in 2017 for America. The EU version of the Direct didn’t mention it at all, but thankfully for fans of the Yo-kai Watch series Nintendo have now confirmed that it will be releasing in Australia sometime this Spring.
But wait, didn’t Yo-kai Watch 2 already come out? Well yes, but similarly to a certain other monster-collecting series the game was released in two different versions – Fleshy Souls and Bony Spirits. Psychic Specters is like a Director’s Cut, which includes everything from both versions as well as even more content. The game will feature 12 additional quests, bumping the total up to 100 quests, including one that will explore the origin of Darknyan (a new feline Yo-kai like Jibanyan). You’ll be able to explore new locations like the Gera Gera Resort and recruit new Yo-kai companions – including the Wicked Yo-kai who you fought against in Fleshy Souls and Bony Spirits. And finally, the Yo-kai Blasters side mode has been expanded, although if the Japanese releases are anything to go off then it unfortunately still won’t be playable online.
We’ll let you know if we hear anything more specific about the release date.
