Skylanders Imaginators – What Will Be Available Day One in Australia?

Skylanders Imaginators launches in Australia on Thursday, and you might have noticed that we… kind of have no real idea of what’s actually going to be available for purchase on release day. All that’s been confirmed so far outside of the Starter Packs are the Wave 1 Senseis. But of course the big gimmick of Imaginators is being able to create your own characters who are stored on Creation Crystals, which haven’t been advertised anywhere yet, and in the US it’s been confirmed that some stores will be getting a second wave of figures releasing early on launch day – what about us!? Well, despite not showing up on EB Games’ website, the retailer has entries in their database for a bunch of these items, and they’re actually accepting pre-orders in-store (and the release dates will show up as October 13th in your order history). So let’s give a rundown of what should be available on day one. We’ll update this during the week because this week’s catalogues should have details for other stores.

Starter Packs

You’ll need this in order to play the game. The basic Starter Pack is available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Wi U. The Dark Edition will be available on the same platforms minus PlayStation 3. The Crash Edition is only available on PlayStation 4 (and there may not be stock outside of pre-orders).

Starter Pack – Contains the game and a portal, Golden Queen and King Pen figures and a Fire Creation Crystal.

Big W – $74 with a free Kaos figurine while stocks last

Target – $79 (with Kaos figure while stocks last)

EB Games – $99.95

Dark Edition Starter Pack – $119.95 – EB Exclusive. Contains the game and a portal, Dark Golden Queen, Dark King Pen and Dark Wolfgang figures and Fire, Life and Dark Creation Crystals.

Crash Edition Starter Pack – $119.95 – Target Exclusive. Contains the game and a portal, Golden Queen, King Pen, Crash Bandicoot and Dr. Cortex figures, a Fire Creation Crystal, and a Crash Bandicoot-themed level.

Senseis

Senseis are the new characters who, when played as, will unlock new abilities for custom characters of the same Battle Class.

Wave 1

These figures are 100% confirmed to be launching day one in marketing material:

• Ambush – Life/Knight
• Barbella – Earth/Sentinel
• Chopscotch – Undead/Smasher
• Dr. Krankcase – Tech/Quickshot
• Tae Kwon Crow – Fire/Ninja
• Wolfgang – Undead Bowslinger

Big W – $15

Target – $16

EB Games – $19.95

Big W’s catalogue also confirms that they will be getting Legendary Tri-Tip at launch as an exclusive, and it will cost $15.

Wave 2

These figures are listed with an October 13th release date in EB’s system, but without official confirmation it is possible that this is a mistake. Big W’s catalogue for this week does not have them listed.

Creation Crystals

Creation Crystals are used to create your own Skylanders. Each crystal has an element that will determine some of the abilities your character will have. Their other abilities are determined bu the Battle Class you assign them during the creation process, but remember that this class cannot be changed once set. These are the crystals that are listed with an October 13th release date in EB’s system. They will cost $10.95 each.

• Magic
• Tech
• Undead
• Water

Big W don’t have all of these elements listed, so it’s possible that EB are either getting exclusives or have given them the wrong release date. Big W will be getting the following crystals, which will cost $9 each:

• Air
• Life
• Light

• Water

Creation Crystal 3-packs

EB’s system lists two triple packs of crystals that will save you a bit of money. They will cost $24.95 each, which is a saving of around $5. Big W’s catalogue for this week does not have these triple packs listed.

Combo Packs

These contain a Sensei and a Creation Crystal of their element at a discounted price. These weren’t being advertised anywhere but they’ve shown up in some stores. Target is selling them for $20, and has a Wolfgang + Undead Crystal pack and a Mysticat + Magic Crystal pack

Adventure Packs

One Adventure Pack will be available at launch. These packs contain a Sensei, a Creation Crystal, and a piece that unlocks a new level. The exception to this is the Crash-themed pack coming next month, which contains two Senseis (Crash and Cortex) who themselves unlock a new level.

Gryphon Pack Observatory Adventure Pack – Contains Air Strike figure, Earth Creation Crystal, and Gryphon Park Observatory toy.

Big W – $30

Target – $32

EB Games – $39.95

Imaginite Mystery Chests

These chests unlock 9 random parts for the character creator, with the rarity of the items depending on the colour of the chest (Bronze, Silver or Gold). They’re one-time use, and chests are reportedly easy to find in-game, so you may not want to bother with these.

Big W – $6 for one chest blind bag

Target – $6 for one blind bag

EB Games – $6.90 for one chest blind bag
