There’s Actually SIX Smash Bros amiibo Left… For Now

amiibo collectors had been avidly awaiting the release of the final three Smash Bros. series amiibo (Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta) for quite some time now. They’d seemingly vanished off the face of the earth, and then evidence of a fourth Smash Bros. amiibo surfaced, which just raised more questions. Well it turns out there’s not three or four amiibo left in the Smash Bros. series, but SIX. The leaked Female Corrin amiibo is indeed a thing, and Cloud and Bayonetta will receive two amiibo as well. These extra amiibo are ‘Player 2’ variants, showcasing alternate costumes of each character.

It was previously announced in a Nintendo Direct (that we didn’t cover due to training to be a terrible martial artist in K’un-Lun) that these amiibo would be launching July 22nd in Australia. Nintendo have now stated that these have been pushed forward to July 21st, which means you can grab them the same day as Splatoon 2 and its amiibo. Unlike America there’s no retailer exclusivity on these amiibo, and they will retail for the regular amiibo price of $17.95.

But don’t get too comfortable, Smash Bros amiibo collectors – I wouldn’t be surprised if a Switch port of the latest Smash Bros. game is on the way with new characters bringing their own amiibo too. This ride will never end.
