Kirby Battle Royale for 3DS

Kirby Battle Royale is an upcoming party game for 3DS which sees four Kirbys (Kirbies?) battle it out in a variety of modes using Kirby’s various copy abilities from throughout the series. Nintendo have released an overview video for the game which details the various modes of the game (in Japanese, however) and has a quick mention of amiibo support at the end.

The game will support the Kirby, Meta-Knight, King DeDeDe and Waddle Dee amiibo and, excitingly, the Qbby amiibo released for Bye-Bye BOXBOY! I think that means that Qbby now has more unique functions than any given Pokemon amiibo. The amiibo appear to unlock new abilities for Kirby to use, but whether these are exclusive or not is yet to be seen – the Boxboy ability looks like it might be a reskin of the Bomb ability so it’s entirely possible they’re just aesthetic differences. In any case, you might want to look into importing the Qbby amiibo if you didn’t get one from Nintendo’s eBay store.

If you’d like some English details on the game then you can watch the official reveal trailer below and visit the official Kirby Battle Royale site.

Kirby Battle Royale launches November 4th in Australia for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, and we’ll add an entry for the game into our calendar.
