Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters

Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters features several new quests that weren’t in the original versions of Yo-kai Watch 2 but you might not know where to find them. Worry not, as we’re collating a guide to each of the new quests as we find and complete each one. These guides are based off a Psychic Specters playthrough using a transferred save file from Bony Spirits that had completed the story mode, so if any of these quests aren’t showing up where the guide says they are then it’s likely that you need to complete the story mode first.

Seeing as there’s quite a few quests and lots of things to explain, guides have been categorised and split up into separate posts to make things easier to find and peruse. Click on a link below to view the guide for that quest. It should go without saying, but these guides will contain spoilers.

Gera Gera Resort

Gera Gera Resort is a new location in Psychic Specters that offers a variety of quests and services for you. There’s a series of quests that will guide you through what this new place has to offer. And you get to ride a train with a face, so there’s that.

Whisper’s Backstory

There’s a new post-game storyline in Psychic Specters that delves into Whisper’s secret history. This questline started for me once my character went to sleep to pass time to morning. You’ll see a cutscene with a new evil Yo-kai called Bronzlow resurrecting Kin and Gin. The three of them hatch a plan to remove the player and their Yo-kai friends from the board (because they’ve had a lot of success with that before), which apparently involves Whisper. Hmm…

These quests are highly linear and mostly story-focused so you probably won’t need a guide for them, but here we go just in case.

Dame Dedtime and the Wicked Yo-kai

Psychic Specters lets you learn about the backstory of the game’s antagonist, Dame Dedtime. Once you’ve done this you’ll get the ability to recruit the Wicked Yo-kai Executives you fought in the story mode, each with their own quests.

In order to start this questline you need to first complete the above quests for Whisper’s Backstory as well as the quest Directator’s All-Star Cast. You will also need to have access to the facilities in Gera Gera Resort.

Tamer of Time

Once you have cleared Tamer of Time you can begin to recruit the Elite Wicked Yo-kai. Talk to Dame Deartime and she will ask you to help the Wicked Yo-kai. They were born from the hatred in her heart, and now that doesn’t exist anymore they will need to be cared for. They’re still around in present-day Springdale but will only show up at night. Each of them has a quest to recruit them.
