Squid Sister Splatfest

Splatoon‘s semi-regular Splatfests have been an amazing experience for the community. Whether it’s the fan-art created to raise morale for your team, or bonding over Europe’s terrible theme choices, they’ve certainly been an event. But the good times are coming to and end, as all things must, with one final Splatfest starting 7pm July 22nd AEST. And its theme is something that has divided the playerbase since day one – are you Team Callie or Team Marie?

You’ll need to decide which of the two Squid Sisters is your favourite and battle over whose name will go down in history as Best Girl. Because this is the last Splatfest ever, there’s an interesting twist – the players will vote on which stages will be in rotation for the event. An email will be sent out to all Splatoon players who have a Nintendo Network ID that will contain voting instructions. So there’s a war within the war that’ll decide which stages are the most popular in the game!

Squadding Up For Splatfest

It’s worth noting that this doesn’t mark the end of the game’s multiplayer altogether, as normal multiplayer matches will still be available – Splatoon will ‘stay fresh’ for some time yet. This will probably be your last opportunity to earn Super Sea Snails for quick re-rolls of your gear abilities, so from now on you’ll need to grind for the coins necessary to change the abilities without them. We’ll add the date for the big day into our calendar so that we won’t forget.
