The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Four Champions

UPDATE (10/11/2017) – We now have a more in-depth guide for the Champion amiibo, with gameplay videos

Nintendo had previously mentioned that the four amiibo figures of the Champions in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will give you a helmet based off each Divine Beast. Now we know what these helmets will actually do! The Legend of Zelda Facebook page has made a post detailing their functions.

Each of these helmets acts like an improved version of the Ancient Helm already in the game, providing the same defensive bonus and requiring the same materials to upgrade it. If you get one of the helmets upgraded to Level 2 or higher and wear it along with the Level 2 or higher Ancient Cuirass and Ancient Greaves then they will provide the Ancient Proficiency bonus. This is cool because items outside of a set haven’t ‘filled in the gaps’ in set bonuses so to speak (e.g. the Sheik mask doesn’t contribute to the Stealth Up set bonus). The Ancient Proficiency bonus increases the attack power of Ancient and Guardian series weapons,

These helmets also reveal the maximum and current HP of enemies that you fight and decreases the damage you take from enemy Ancient/Guardian damage. Each of them has an additional unique ability related to the environment that each beast belongs to:

  • Vah Rudania Divine Helm – Flame Guard Lv. 1 (Daruk amiibo)
  • Vah Ruta Divine Helm – Swim Speed Up Lv. 1 (Mipha amiibo)
  • Vah Naboris Divine Helm – Electricity Resistance Lv. 1 (Urbosa amiibo)
  • Vah Medoh Divine Helm – Cold Resistance Lv. 1 (Revali amiibo)

The four Champion amiibo release on November 10th in Australia.
